Like other genre fiction, it's more of an acquired taste. I can point you in the direction of great SF that appeals to me but you will likely be left scratching your head in confusion like you're missing something. I am the same way when it comes to many Victorian or medieval lit.

Appreciate the kind words. I really do find it a lot easier to write about literature that I don't like or find to be disappointing (like this one) as opposed to favorites. For example, my reviews for 'To the Lighthouse' and 'Mrs. Dalloway' (my two favorite novels of all time as I mentioned on numerous occasions) don't even come close to doing these novels justice; comprising of mostly haphazard, scattered thoughts. I wouldn't even know where to start on writing something substantial about them.
Jason Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334917645691982404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5383119466961870537.post-66334369498680609002015-03-24T12:35:05.987-04:002015-03-24T12:35:05.987-04:00Have I ever told you that I love the adjectives yo...Have I ever told you that I love the adjectives you use in your reviews. I must remember to expropriate some of them. ;-)

I struggle with sci-fi. It's not that I don't like it; I always feel that I'm out of my element and I'm not quite sure what I should be looking for or appreciating. Which probably means I need to read more of this genre, huh?

Excellent review! I always have a difficult time communicating why I dislike a book while you, on the other hand, are brilliant at it. Cleohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13152128642971612433noreply@blogger.com
